KontakteDuo

This duo dedicated to the music of our time, is inspired by a piece written between 1958 and 1960 by Karlheinz Stockhausen for piano, percussion and electronic.

KontakteDuo started from a thorough reflection on the music of the 20th century and on the impact of technology in the western classical music. His target is to explore the new tendencies of this modern aesthetic with all sorts of musical performances between an artistic and personal approach.

Kontakte is a piece which promotes a break in musical thought, and take an important role in the emancipation of what we can call the “grammar of electronic music”. With the development of electronic music, the concept of “new virtuosity” is established where the interpreter, on the verge of his physical and cognitive capacities, interact with an identity with no face, neither limits nor breath. With the aesthetic of the artificial, as the creation/imitation of nature, the electronic music obtains a logic of interaction in the creation of new sounds and new musical forms. The work on stage transcends the normal boundaries of the traditional performance, and exceeds the human capacities, where a world of primitive stimuli is revealed.
